Speaking | Angela Sackett

I’m a girl saved by God’s grace.  Every day I’m learning more of His kindness to His people as He shows it to me through sweetness and challenge, and I love to share that with others, especially when I can encourage women to live in the truth of who they are in Christ.  From the time I was a teen, I’ve been speaking the truth in love through biblical teaching, dramatic presentations, and inspirational messages.  I’d love to speak with you more about how I can serve your conference, retreat, or gathering.  Below are some topics I’ve studied and taught, but it’s also a pleasure to work with you to meet the specific needs of your group or theme of your event.  (For a printable/downloadable bio, Angela Sackett Everyday Welcome.)

Purposeful Hospitality

God specifically teaches women in scripture that we can use our homes as meeting places, as havens of worship, as places of instruction, and as vehicles for His love to be shared.  By being intentional with our investment of time and resources, we can streamline our workload, lower our stress level, open our calendars, and influence those around us for His glory and their good.  With winsome illustration, laughter and vulnerability, I’ll give biblical models and practical tools to help us make the most of our homes and our daily opportunities to build meaningful relationship that has eternal impact.

Drop the Rope: Marriage and the Great Tug of War

Sometimes it can feel like marriage is a tug-of-war with both sides fighting dirty to get what they want and need.  With poignant real-life illustrations and a touch of humor (because we need it, ladies!), we tackle some of the biggest struggles wives may face, and cover practical ideas we can use to walk out the gospel in our homes and in our marriages.

Awaken the Palate | Nourish the Soul

In an era where chefs are superstars and cooking is a celebrated art form, Christians have a powerful opportunity to use food as a vehicle to not just feed hungry tummies, but to nourish hungry hearts.  In a unique format, I combine cooking demonstration with ideas on how nutrition and flavor can be used to “speak the truth in love” at your table, for your family and for those you welcome.  This topic is flexible for one-time short sessions and for multiple-session events, as it can build on itself.

Walking Alongside: Parenting as Discipleship

While sometimes parenting can feel like overwhelming responsibility to create perfect little people, God models for us a balance of discipline and grace, authority and companionship.  When we begin to view our parenting journey as one of gradual deepening friendship and lessening authority, we have a freedom and calling that go hand-in-hand.

Wide Eyes and Laser Focus

As women, we can easily become distracted by “all the things” we want and need to do.  By opening our eyes to see beyond our current circumstances while focusing in on the “needed” that God actually calls us to, we can find grace and effectiveness right in the season we’re in.

Teamwork: A Plan for Survival in a Busy Home

Being parents does not mean our hands are tied to being able to serve and welcome others.  With intentional planning and practice paired with accountability, we can bring our family together as a team to accomplish how God is calling us to live, and to bless those around us with His love and grace.

Homeschooling (or Parenting) and Hospitality

Families are busy with the demands of the season, raising children and putting their needs first.  But families with children also have a special ability to model the gospel through relationship.  Homeschool families in particular have a unique position and opportunity within the community, and if we’re purposeful, we can build relationships that create a powerful impact on those around us.  With practical tips, challenges and creative ideas for all families, I inspire women to live out a powerful ministry opportunity in the season you’re in right now, equipping ourselves to serve, our children to meet their world with their God, and our homes to be tools for gospel living.

Winter: A Journey of Stillness

Written as a 10-day challenge and then revised into a 10-week study, this series of meditations inspired by the stillness of winter combines biblical truth with 10 themes to help you slow down, pull back, and really listen for God to speak amidst a busy life.  Ideally suited for a two-day retreat, this series can be broken into several talks over the course of a weekend.
