After several years and several rounds of Whole30, I’ve enjoyed so many benefits from exploring tried-and-true recipes and experimenting with foods that serve my body well.  Here are the best Whole30 resources, hacks, tips, and recipes I’ve found along the way!

Honestly, you can do a complete round of Whole30 from the free resources on the official website.  But these books have been super beneficial for me in finding amazing recipes and really understanding the science-y stuff behind Whole30.  They’ve also helped me refine what works best for my body along the way.  (Affiliate links used which means at no additional cost to you, I receive a small commission to help support this site and my family!)

The Whole 30 – the first book I owned that challenged and began re-shaping some of my views on food and nourishing the body.  I’d call it a foundational book for understanding the concepts behind Whole30.

Food Freedom Forever taught me so much about the way I view food, and it deeply challenged my eating patterns. It also left gaps in the spiritual component, which started me on my journey of digging deeper into God’s view of food.  Ultimately it’s what led to my writing Refined Journey, a 40 day biblically-grounded study on nourishing body, mind, and soul.

It Starts With Food was part of our older kids’ health curriculum one year. This is a secular resource, and I 100% disagree with the authors’ evolutionary mindset. (Warning: they’re also pretty sassy in some of their explanations for unhealthy food choices, which appears in most all their publications.) Having said that, the “science-y” concepts behind some of our food choices are so well explained, so user-friendly, that they truly transformed our home’s menu. They also helped our athletes think more intentionally about how they nourish their bodies.

My parents loved The Whole 30 Fast and Easy! It was the book that sparked their completing a challenge after they teased me a bit along the way. 😉 They still refer to the recipes often.

The Whole 30 Cookbook has core recipes and information to help explain the Whole 30 mindset. It’s one I refer to again and again.

Whole30 Coaching

Hiring a Whole30 coach can be a powerful way to complete a Whole30 round.  Whether in a group or individual setting, Whole30 coaching gives you a wing-man and even a group of teammates to cheer you on, give you ideas, and remind you why you’re in.  Want more info about it?  Shoot me your email here, and I’ll send you a pretty, printable Whole30 cheat sheet to refer to, and add you to my email list for ongoing encouragement!

Favorite Whole30 Recipes

Want an easy, delicious breakfast idea?  This easy egg breakfast is like my favorite shakshuka.  It’s fast and filling.

Try my simple, pantry-ingredient salmon burgers.  That’s them pictured below; we make these several times a month for lunch or dinner, and I love the leftovers for breakfast.

This Paleo Sesame Chicken from 40 Aprons is worth every minute of prep time.  My non-Whole30 friends and family rave about it!

I love Pad Thai, and Real Simple Good Life’s version with spiralized sweet potatoes is delicious!

My cauliflower rice tabbouleh salad is bright and fresh and if you top it with a serving of grilled or roasted chicken, it’s a full meal.

Whole30 Recipe Blogs

These blogs aren’t necessarily FULLY Whole30 in content, but many compatible recipes are my favorite Whole30 go-to recipes from these bloggers.  (As always, make sure to read recipes and ingredient labels to make sure your meals are Whole30 compatible.)

Downshiftology – Her recipes are clean and beautiful and easy to follow (and I love all her tips on YouTube!).  Here’s a post with Lisa’s top Whole30 Dinner Recipes.

40 Aprons – Cheryl’s recipes have been some of my very favorite during Whole30 and otherwise!  Her Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash makes a pain-in-the-neck veggie SO easy, and I could eat – ok I have eaten – her Herb Roasted Sweet Potato Salad from the serving bowl with a spoon.  It is the best side dish you may ever eat.  😉

Real Simple Good Life – Erica and Justin share beautiful, understated recipes packed with flavor.  Their Whole30 resources are massive!  Creative meal bowls are some of my very favorite meals, and this Salmon Pesto Kale Bowl is so bright and zesty!  Save their “Healthy Big Mac Sauce” because you’ll want it on all-the-things.

What Great Grandma Ate – besides having an adorable blog name, Jean shares some of my very favorite beautiful, delicious Whoe30 recipes.  You’ll want a few batches of her Tzatziki Sauce to go with my Greek Burger Bowls!  I’m addicted to her Sheet Pan “Cheesesteak” – the sauce is divine.

Elizabeth at Whole Food Believer is a fellow Whole30 Coach with the sweetest heart and most encouraging way about her, and she’s also a registered dietition.  Check out her recipes for Farmers Market Cobb Salad and Shoestring Sweet Potatoes, and read  “1 Way to Build a Healthy Plate” article with two fun recipes.

Whole Food For 7 – Autumn is a fellow Whole30 Coach and a fellow five-kiddo-mom.  Her blog is bright and beautiful, and she shares tons of tips for feeding a family well.  Check out her collection of 30 Minute Whole30 Meals, try her Zucchini Lasagne Roll-Ups (yum!), and make a batch of her no-cook, unexpected Sweet Everything Bagel Whole30 Tuna Salad.
